Post subject: Are solved question paper useful ? Post
We receive numerous mails/comments/calls asking us for previous year solved question papers of State Bank of India,Bank of India,Corporation bank & many other banks which announce recruitment.But how far are these question papers & guides helpful? We personally asked a few candidates who had already taken such exams by preparing using solved question papers.Here are their answers.



Q: Why did you prepare using previous year question papers?

A: Previous year question papers of public sector banks were helpful in knowing the pattern of questions that would be asked.It was most useful for those people who were taking the bank exams for the first time.



Q: Did you rely completely on the solved question papers & guides?

A: No.We used it just to study the areas of questioning ,number of questions in each section & the level of difficulty in each paper.Believing that the same questions would be asked again is foolishness,since each paper covers vast subjects.



Q: What were the other benefits of preparing using question papers?

A: One of the main use of practicing using sample or model question paper is Time management.Most exams have around 120-150 questions to be answered within 2.5 – 3 hours.Since the questions are objective type,the answers for each question would be similar.Deciding the correct answer within the given time is the key to complete the paper,keeping in mind the negative marks also.



So,previous year question papers of various banks will help to understand the format of exam better,but don't expect the same questions to be asked again.Expect the best but prepare for the worst!
